Ah, well there IS a "manual beat-em up" method as well, but it's just not as efficient when there's another guy shooting you from behind. Usually when I get frustrated, I just slide kick them in the groin, and proceed to smashing their face. It does take a few more punches though to take them down, therefore it takes more time and is not as efficient compared to the ultra-difficult counterattack.

This post made me LOL. I like your descriptions of this girl's survival strategy.

The thing is - isn't it realistic to require that in order to disarm an opponent who is bigger and stronger than you, you need to get the timing exactly right?

In self defense classes for women, where the entire 'technique' is find the nuts and kick them hard, timing does matter!

Even without L4D coming out, the nazi zombie mode is epic failure. When I first saw the red words "nazi zombies" appear on the screen I couldn't stop but think OMG CHEESY! So apparently nazis come back from the grave to break your wood plank doors, and you have to play door repairman, and buy guns off the crayon outline drawings on the walls.

I wanted to give Treyarch a second chance because people were saying COD3 sucked because they were rushed into making it in under 1 year. Well this game proves my worst suspicions - Treyarch is a bunch of talentless hacks relying on movie franchise games and the names of other successful games to crank out utter crap.

COD WaW is mostly suck. The Russian campaign was particularly awful, and whoever wrote the script for that should be banned from writing and shot. The tank and airplane gunner missions were pretty bad too, and yes you are LUCKY you got to miss most of the tank mission due to a glitch.

The only interesting part of the game was the Pacific Campaign, which I thought should have been 100% of the story. It was the first WW2 game to attempt to do it properly, and they should have made it longer. They didn't even do Iwo Jima or the Allied campaign in Burma. WW2 really defined the US Marines and made them a larger and more prominent part of the US Armed Forces. There were so many awesome stories and campaigns they could have used from the Pacific Theater War but instead they wasted their time on a totally stupid Russian campaign.

Flamethrower - the weapon is cheap. Unlimited ammo? Please. If they are going to make it so overpowered, they should at least make it easier to kill you when you use it, and have a cool exploding death that kills guys around you too.

I think the "breathing" sound effect also adds to the realism. DICE did an outstanding job making the runner/parkour experience as realistic as possible. Playing the demo I do have a few gripes though - Faith can leap from rooftop to rooftop and perform wall runs, but sometimes she can't even jump up a ledge that's about waist-high. How embarrassing!

Yeah seriously what is with these mediocre games getting rave reviews? Maybe those reviews were bought by the game publisher, who knows. Or you and I just have different gaming tastes than the rest of the planet.

I'm so glad I avoided the Far Cry series. I knew as soon as I saw it that it would be another generic shooter.

I know it won't get me any extra muscle, but at least it helps me get off the chair and get moving. I actually did lose some weight ever since I started with WiiFit.

Oh man I really liked this clip. In some way it's actually more entertaining and informative than Zero-Punctuation. Many valid points are made.

Although I have to say, one aspect that sets video games apart from movies, TV, books, or music is the interaction. None of those other media allows the audience to participate in the progression of the story and making decision to alter the outcome of an event. For that, video games will likely to continue be the center of controversies because someone will always point and say "you're training the kids to become a killing machine/sex maniac."

So yes, let's ban video games from our children's life!!

There's no doubt this game is beautiful on the eyes. But I still can't find motivation in me to complete this game. After free-roaming in the open world environment, I got pretty tired of carrying out the same missions over and over...

The story is definitely interesting. But I think the game pace is a bit too slow for my liking. Plus, like I said before, the AI on PS3 sometimes is border-line non-existent. "I just killed another guard in front of your very own eyes... now I'm slowly walking towards you like a scholar... you're next!" and the guard just stands there like an idiot waiting for me to end his life... *sigh*
